      <image:title>Home - Can You Say Pivot? I can!!!</image:title>
<image:caption>A friend once told me I need to be able to pivot. In my career. In my life. In what I want. So, that’s what I’m working on right now; my pivoting capabilities. Sperm Donor (and The Gift of a Stroke) is the second novel I’ve written and I’m still seeking traditional publisher. However, I sent it to an agent in L.A. and she suggested I write a movie screenplay based on the book but with a few things added. That’s when my screenwriting quest began, and I have written three screenplays to date: How The Light Got In - (Inspired by my story) When a stroke shatters her world, a resilient young woman discovers her true strength and finds love and forgiveness as she rebuilds her life again. My Beloved - After a young South Africa woman suffers great trauma and grief that could have silenced her forever, she travels abroad to New Jersey, where she lives with a loving family and learns to find her voice again. Better Late Then Never - Sometimes a person from your past is the only one that can make the present feel like home. You just have to be ready and let them in. I am currently trying to find a movie production company that wants to make the screenplays into movies! Click here for the Proof of Concept (POC) for How The Light Got In The goal is to spark someone’s interest by the video above, because as Lady Gaga always says “you can be in front of 99 people and it just takes that one person to give you a chance.” Well, I’m holding out for that one!</image:caption>

      <image:title>Home - Goals, Goals, Goals</image:title>
<image:caption>It all started as the result of a trip home to New Jersey, where my life-long friend, Marie asked me if I wanted to do anything special while I was there. The one thing that popped into my head was to ride a two-wheeled bike again. Since having the stroke, I can’t maintain my balance so I’ve resorted to a trike. But one night (and after a few alcoholic beverages), Marie, her husband, and her two teenaged kids made sure I got on a bike again. Click below to view a video of this adventure! Conquering a Two-Wheel Bike Post-Stroke And that is how my goal quest started. For items marked “Done!” below, see “Post-Stroke Goals” page for pictures/videos of each goal conquered! My list includes: Ride a motorcycle again (with Keanu Reeves as instructor) Singing in front of a large audience (Done!) Archery (Done!) Gun Shooting (Done!) Shoot pool (Done!) Bowling (Done!) Top Golf (Done!) Ride a horse (Done!) Skiing Kiss the Blarney Stone (IE) Repel down a mountain (Done!) Scuba Diving Bungee jump (Tandem) Sky Dive (Done! Sort of - did iFlying instead) Axe Throwing (Done!) Next up is # 9: Skiing!</image:caption>

<image:title>Post-Stroke Goals - Singing in front of a large audience</image:title>
<image:caption>Before the video below begins, I said to the audience they’re probably “wondering why this older woman would want to be in a recital tailored towards all of these wonderful kids? Well, I had a stroke almost 8 years ago and as I was working through the recovery process, I realized I had never really set personal goals for myself so I came up with 15 goals, from Archery to Sky Diving, and today you get to become a part of the goal of singing in front of a large audience.” That’s the applause you hear at the beginning. Hope you enjoy watching it! ‘Love Will Come To You’ Singing Video</image:caption>

      <image:title>Extra, Extra! - Mega Mentor</image:title>
<image:caption>Everyone should be fortunate enough to have a mentor at some point in their life. Someone who influences or motivates them to pursue their passion... their gift. For me, my mother was my first and the inspiration for Owed to My Mother. And then there was Aunt Rita and a few of my closest friends, who helped me find the drive and motivation to keep writing. But my mega mentor on this journey has been Richard Hack, the award winning author whose books were used as source material for Oscar-winning films including "The Aviator" ("Hughes: The Private Diaries and Letters"), "J. Edgar" ("PuppetMaster: The Secret Life of J. Edgar Hoover"), and “Bohemian Rhapsody" ("Mercury: The First Queen"). I came to learn of Richard from a college friend. Knowing I needed help navigating in the publishing world, my friend contacted Richard to see if he could help, and he did. In fact, one year prior to this initial contact, Richard had already known of me and my book as he picked up a copy of Owed to My Mother in an Air France Premiere Lounge in Nice and read it straight through. When we first spoke he was extremely complimentary to my writing and gave me great tips on what I should and should not look for as I get my second book published. He is always inspiring, extremely impressive and I look to him as a motivator of success as I continue to forge my path as a great author.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Extra, Extra! - The Ellen Show</image:title>
<image:caption>If you know me, you know how eager I’ve been to get on The Ellen Show. Not as an audience member, but an actual guest, so I can share my story about having the stroke and how my life has been changed for the better because of it, and of course, to promote my books. Since her show has come to an end, this quest will unfortunately not come true. But we can still watch the final attempt video again just for fun, right?!
